Dr. Mark LaSota, Ph.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Sport Management at Texas A&M University. His research focuses on sport leadership, organizational culture, and international business. A recognized thought leader on leadership topics, he authored more than 40 articles as a contributor to Forbes and is co-author of the forthcoming third edition of Contemporary Leadership in Sport Organizations, a prominent textbook in the discipline.

As an educator, Dr. LaSota has spent nearly two decades in faculty and administrative roles and currently oversees global initiatives for his department, including international education programs. He earned a Ph.D. in Sport Administration, completing a dissertation in collaboration with the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, where he interviewed inductees about their mentoring experiences. He also holds master’s degrees in International Business and Sport Psychology.

Beyond academia, Dr. LaSota has extensive experience in the sports and fitness industries, having served in roles such as coach, scout, event supervisor, sports camp director, fitness manager, personal trainer, and business owner. He has also worked with leading sport brands, including the National Football League, across operations, marketing, security, and guest experience. In addition, he provides leadership and performance consulting to companies and sport organizations.
